Roblox just had a first edition of the big “The Hunt” event, but things got a little weird with some of the new accessories players could buy. Let’s break down what happened and what it means for you.
The confusing case of the Limited Items available in The Hunt event
The controversy spins around a set of exclusive items that you can purchase from The Hunt event’s in-game hub. These items were initially marked as “limited time only,” which initially gave us the impression that they would ultimately run out and possibly become pricey.
Things changed, though, when the “Infinite Flying V Guitar” accessory—which was originally marked as a “limited time offer”—gagged to read “limited.” This inconsistency gave rise to rumors that Roblox might actually be restricting some items.
The expensive blunder of 36,000 Robux Sword Pack
Further muddying the waters was the introduction of a 36,000 Robux Vault Swordpack. The exorbitant price tag made players suspect a typo, with the real price likely intended to be 3,600 Robux.
This notion gained popularity when Roblox eventually lowered the price to the reduced amount, hinting a mistaken overpricing. However, the plot thickened when the initially “limited time offer” pack became actually a limited item after the price correction.
Previous Limited Item Shenanigans
This isn’t the first time Roblox’s handling of limited items has brought up issues. The Tate McRae limited scam was recently brought up by a YouTuber called WaffleTrades, in which participants were deceived about the limited status of a Gold Pilot Wings item, leading to anger and accusations.
If you ask us, the current situation has created a confusing buying experience for many players. Should they invest in these “limited time” items, hoping they’ll become valuable later? Or is it a gamble, with no guarantee they’ll ever truly be limited?
