How to Get the Chimera Pet in Grow a Garden (Full Guide)

Updated: November 23, 2025  ·  Reading time: ~4 min

When I first unlocked the Chimera Pet in Grow a Garden, I didn’t fully realize how strong it actually was. It sounds like just another late-game fusion pet, but once you stack multiple copies, it begins functioning like a three-in-one power multiplier rather than a simple stat boost.

Before getting into the unlocking steps, it helps to understand why it’s worth the effort, because you’ll need older event pets, eggs, and cosmetics, so it’s not something you stumble into naturally.

What Chimera Actually Does Once You Get It

The Chimera feels like a hybrid of three meta pets rolled into a single passive engine. If you’ve used Lion, Goat, Snake individually, this pet essentially merges their best traits.

Here’s how it behaves in actual gameplay:

  • Every ~12 minutes it triggers a roar, and that roar advances cooldowns globally, shared across every pet.
When I ran multiple Chimeras, the cooldown stacking got ridiculous — think pseudo-Lion passive but synchronized across all pets you have out.
  • Every ~7 minutes it rams a random player (including other players on your server), but instead of just knocking them back, it drops a Common egg.
This isn’t just a meme; if you leave your game AFK, you wake up to a pile of eggs. It’s basically a passive egg farm.
  • It can duplicate purchases from the Seed/Gear shop, roughly a 6% chance based on the current update.
This is the part sleeper players don’t realize: if you time your purchases during events, limited recipes, or seed farming, Chimera suddenly becomes an economic advantage rather than just a stat pet.

If you’re a late-game grinder, the real power comes from stacking 6–8 copies, because all three passives trigger across all summoned versions.

What You Need Before You Can Unlock It

You cannot just walk up and press a button. The unlock requires a ritual setup and three specific pets placed correctly.

You’ll need:

  1. Chimera Stone
  2. Three specific pets (Goat, Lion, Emerald Snake)
  3. Four light-source cosmetics
  4. A table cosmetic
  5. A shard in your hand when performing the ritual

Most people get stuck on the pets because they come from older events or specific eggs.

How to Craft the Chimera Stone

Go to your crafting table and combine:

  • Mythical Egg
  • Bog Egg
  • Jungle Egg
  • Gem Egg
  • (Plus required currency based on event)

You can also technically skip crafting and just buy the stone off a bot using Robux, but if you’re doing it legit, you’ll need all four eggs first.

The Gem Egg is the most annoying of the set, since you need a decent luck setup to pull the right pets consistently.

How to Get Each Required Pet

When players reach this step, they freeze up because two of these pets aren’t naturally obtainable anymore.

Here’s what each pet is and how to get it now:

Goat

Originally from the Halloween event.
As of now, you must trade for it, since it’s no longer dropping. Prices can be rough depending on your server economy.

Lion

Came from the Mega Safari Harvest event.
Again, not actively obtainable, so trade or buy from someone who stocked extras.

Emerald Snake

This one is still obtainable, but only through Gem Eggs, and the drop rate is low.
If you’re solo grinding for it, stack luck boosts and farm Gem Eggs directly rather than buying crates.

Once you have all three, place them on your garden when holding a shard.

How to Set Up the Ritual Properly

A lot of players place the pets correctly but still can’t trigger the interaction. The issue usually isn’t the pets, it’s the environment.

Here’s the correct setup:

  1. Place Goat, Lion, Emerald Snake in your garden
  2. Equip and hold your shard
  3. Place FOUR light-source cosmetics (not just torches, actual cosmetic lights)
  4. Place a table cosmetic under or near the ritual area

The light sources matter more than people think. It specifically looks for four active lamps, not just ambient glow. Things like lanterns, lamps, neon blocks — anything classified as a cosmetic with light output.

If cosmetics you need are out of stock, you’ll need to wait for rotation. The quickest workaround is using duplicate copies of the same lamp, variety doesn’t matter, only count.

Once everything is placed, and you’re holding the shard, you’ll see the prompt appear. If the prompt doesn’t appear, check:

  • One of the lights isn’t actually turned on
  • You’re holding the wrong shard
  • You’re using placeholder pets instead of event variants

Fixing the lighting was what solved it for me.

Final Step

Once the ritual triggers, a prompt appears, and you convert the setup into the Chimera pet. After that, you can craft multiples as long as you repeat the stone + ritual requirements.

And yes, having multiple is absolutely worth it.

Is Chimera Worth The Grind?

If you’re early-game, it’s overkill.

If you’re mid-game, it helps but isn’t required.

If you’re late-game and farming rare seeds, duplicating shop items, or running multi-pet cooldown builds, it’s honestly one of the strongest passive-stack pets available so far.
